Privacy

goodcrowd is a free guide to what's on in Adelaide. Like any website, we collect some information to make it all work. Here's what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

How we use it

Emails

There are two kinds. Service emails — password resets and the event reminders you've asked for — we send these whenever they're needed. The good stuff — occasional emails about what's on — we send these if you have an account or have joined the newsletter. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and opting out of the good stuff never affects your service emails. We never share your email address with advertising platforms.

Advertising

We promote goodcrowd online, including ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. To understand whether those ads are working, we may use standard advertising tools — like the Meta Pixel — which use cookies to measure visits and sign-ups that come from an ad. These tools work from activity on our own site, not from our mailing list: we don't upload, share or hand over your email address (or any contact details) to Meta or any other ad platform. You can limit these cookies any time (see Cookies and Your choices below).

Who we share it with

The trusted services that keep goodcrowd running:

They process your information only to provide those services. We may also share information if the law requires it. We never sell your personal information, and we never share your email address for advertising. Full stop.

Cookies

We use a secure cookie to keep you signed in. That one is essential and always on.

Everything else is opt-in. Google Analytics (how many people visit, which pages and events are popular, roughly which region visitors come from) and the Meta Pixel (whether our Facebook and Instagram ads are working) do not load at all until you choose "Allow" on the cookie banner. Say no and they are never loaded, and we clear any of their cookies we can reach. Both measure activity on goodcrowd only: they don't receive your email or name, and GA4 doesn't store your IP address. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" we treat that as a no and don't even ask.

We also use GoatCounter, a simple visit counter that sets no cookies and collects no personal data, so it isn't part of the choice above.

How long we keep it

As long as it's useful for running goodcrowd. Close your account and we'll remove your personal details.
